It was Hollywood films like this that went that extra mile when it came to supporting the growing war effort that was on the verge of consuming all aspects of American life in the early 1940's. Well, i never expected this film to end the way it did. I really enjoyed it. Great actors.

It was great to see Rex Ingram in a dramatic role.

It's amazing what cameramen could do with the old heavy cameras and equipment, truly skilled artists. It's so easy now, with light cameras and computers, compared to then .

I was really getting into this movie. I thought it was great. But the ending kind of turned me off.

Loved Mildred Pierce, she was great in that. I take what her daughter said about her with a grain of salt as I didn't know her and if the other daughter says different you have to wonder. RIP Joan.
